A spacious, one-bedroom apartment with large living room and en-suite dining room / study or second bedroom.

This lovely apartment makes up the 3rd floor of a building from the 1930's in which period features have been thoughtfully retained, including the original carved wooden entrance doors. Totally renovated to a modern standard it is decorated with a sense of style that successfully combines contemporary and classic. The living room is bright and friendly with plenty of comfortable seating and a dining-table for 4. Alternatively, meals can be served in the luminous kitchen/breakfast room. This is well-equipped with large fridge, oven with ceramic hob, coffee-maker. toaster etc. and leads onto the glass-enclosed balcony where there is a washing machine and plenty of drying space.

The bedroom contains two comfortable single beds that can be brought together to form a 180cm x 200cm double bed. Double glass doors open onto a little balcony. There is ample cupboard space. The living room, with double sofa-bed, can be used as a second bedroom. This has access to a balcony with small table and two chairs where you can enjoy the evening sun. A generous-sized entrance hall with antique secretaire can be used as an office.

The bathroom, with bath and wash basin, combines luxurious white marble with chic black walls to create a luxurious haven to relax in. The WC is separate.

There is independent central heating, air-conditioning in the living room and double glazing.

Amenities include TV, DVD player, CD player, radio and free internet connection. Also provided: sheets and towels, iron, ironing board and hairdryer. A children's cot is available on request.

There is no lift in the building.

In this specific neighbourhood, the centre of the old city, you will find the ancient Roman Market place, numerous Byzantine churches and the Hamam Turkish bath revealing the multi cultural history of the city. All are of interest and easy to visit. From the apartment itself it is a pleasant walk down through Aristotelous, the central pedestrian avenue that crosses the three main streets of the city centre, to the seafront. This impressive avenue and square, lined with elegant cafes, is a popular meeting place for young and old, locals and tourists. It is also the site of music concerts and festive celebrations.

Athonos Square, which is in fact a network of little alleyways, is a short walk away. Here, amongst the old carpenter's workshops, are many traditional restaurants where you can sit in the open and enjoy traditional Greek cuisine and atmosphere. Directly adjoining is the covered Modiani market - an experience you should not miss. You can buy your food here or in the neighbourhood baker's, bio-shop and supermarket.
